You will have read all the blogs, seen all the Instagrams, read our tutorials, because let’s be honest, it would have been rather impossible to escape from the fact that it was London Fashion Week over the weekend. Which is why this backstage round-up is just of a few of my favourite moments from the shows. It’s been real LFW… Over and out.
WALK THE LINE
Eyeliner is having a major moment for Autumn/Winter ’15, so if there was one make-up trend that I was going to pull out for us to focus on, it’s liner. But it’s not liner as we classically know it. Thinking outside the remit of feline flicks, this season liner has taken on more of a abstract form in the shape of slashes of liner halfway up the socket. Look to Benefit’s Head Trend and Make-Up Artist, Lisa Potter-Dixon’s, beautiful make-up at Matthew Williamson for inspiration. BEYOND.
TOPSHOP VINE BOOTH
Topshop are always brilliantly innovative and on-the-ball when it comes to integrating tech into the fashion world. Backstage at their venue in the historic Tate Britian, they had a ‘Vine Booth’, where you could record and upload content live to their Vine channel amongst the mayhem. Say cheese!
GLITTERATI
There was a lot of glitter on the catwalk. On the eyes, the lips, the nails, even the entire face (yes, really!), as seen above at Sophia Webster by Maybelline’s major make-up artist Sharon Dowsett (also pictured are my to-die-for shoes and bag from her new collection). A delight for most, but terrifying for me, someone who actually has a real – if irrational – phobia of the small pretty particles. This season, it was time for me to face my fears.
BEAUTYBLENDER BACKSTAGE
When we tell you that beautyblender is a make-up artist’s backstage essential, we really mean it. It was the little pink star of London Fashion Week, seen perfectly applying a flawless make-up finish at many a make-up station backstage at the shows. Go beautyblender!
KEEPING UP WITH KENDALL
Seeing the Kendall Jenner machine in action is quite a fascinating thing. A 360 degree layer of security protection, it’s almost impossible to get near the girl (hence the picture of just her side profile), but in person, she is actually just every bit as beautiful as you might imagine. #girlcrush
